My interest in Naruto needs a kick start..

April 13, 2011

There used to be a day when I would think to myself, “I wish Masashi Kishimoto would keep writing Naruto forever”, and it was only natural for any Naruto fan to wish for that because the story was that good. These days, my interest has wavered. Perhaps because the storyline is no longer as gripping as it used to be, or perhaps its because my life is that little more busy than it used to be.

Toriko [AotW]

February 1, 2011

This manga is an encompassing manga that strikes the world of culinary advancements and well-certified hunters searching for the most inherent ingredients — which can be found irregularly depending on the environment/setting — to finalize, and validate their full course menu.

One aspect that seems like it has some sort of a negative/boring connotation is the culinary part, people mistakenly assume that just because it involves a topic that doesn’t necessarily seem as vivacious and invigorating will have a huge impact in regards to their picks, however, I can state with great delight; that isn’t the case, at all.

Believe it or not, the innovative additions of food and beverages will actually stupefy you – and that isn’t meant in a bad way either, the mangaka’s creations and variations regarding food and beverages will keep you salivating till tomorrow and still keep you blissfully interested in Toriko’s world/universe.

Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Ships One Million Copies

December 3, 2010

NAMCO BANDAI have announced that Naruto Shippuden: Ulimate Ninja Storm 2 has shipped more than one million copies worldwide. The game was releasd in mid-October to crack reviews and has seen the greatest success in Europe with 500,000 units shipped. A further 340,000 units were shipped in North America and 160,000 in Japan.

The game is available on the both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, despite the first Ultimate Ninja Storm having been released exclusively for the Playstation 3 back in January 2009.

The “Ultimate Adventure mode” follows Naruto, Sasuke and Jiraiya as they battle their way through the Naruto Shippuden story arc. The game also boasts over 40 other playable characters, a host of environents to explore, the original Japanese voiceover, impressive visuals, an excellent soundtrack, and for the more competitive gamer, online play.

Gamespot gave Ulimtate Ninja Storm 2 a not too shabby 7/10. Although they did not rate it as highly as Gametrailers (8.4/10) or IGN (8/10), they have written an excellent review of the game.

Casshern Sins [AotW]

November 17, 2010

Casshern Sins – Not a very well known anime, and not really appealing at first. However, I highly recommend this anime to all fans. It’s hard to put Casshern Sins into any type of category, it’s a sad story with action but it also has a mildly “slow” pace and simple plot with very few twists. Don’t let this fool you though, it’s an amazing anime with absolutely beautiful art work.

The story centers around someone called “Casshern”. Who has no memory of who he is, or even what he is. In a world filled with robots and very few humans left alive, Casshern Sins focuses on the struggles that these robots go through, as they slowly rust away and die. Some clambering together in hopes of not dying alone, and others going out of their minds, turning to violence and cannibalism. Casshern Sins only gets deeper and more interesting with each episode. Casshern slowly piecing back his memory while trying to figure out why he is wanted dead/hated so much. It’s hard to go into great detail without spoiling the storyline – The sound track is also very emotional and fits the anime almost perfectly.
The fight scenes are incredible in Casshern Sins, from the frame rate to the artwork, everything fits together nicely and really, when Casshern fights, this anime kicks ass. But fighting isn’t all this anime has, it also has moments where you’ll feel for the characters in Cassern Sins. The emotion is portrayed well, whether it be anger, loss, confusion or sorrow, and the soundtrack only helps with conveying the emotion.

All in all, I give this anime a 9/10 rating. And highly recommend it to any of you who have even been slightly intrigued by what I’ve said. Please give it a watch – I can almost guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
